For Stealing 10 Bowls Of Rice I Sentence You To Two Years imprisonment.

A 29 year old Fatai Ganiyu was sentenced to two years imprisonment by a magistrate court in osogbo for stealing 10 bowls of uncooked rice and four bottles of alcoholic drink. 

The convict was first arraigned in court on the 10 of october , 2016, when Mr. Mereti Wilson ( the presecutor), told the court that the worth of the bowl of rice stolen was
N 8,000 while the bottle of drinks was N 10,000.

The prosecutor told the court that fatai ganiyu broke into the shop of okeola comfort in oke ayepe are , gbongan, around 2am and stole the goods.

HE SAID:

“Fatai committed an offence contrary to and punishable under sections 283 and 414 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, vol. II, Law of Osun State, Nigeria 2002, punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, vol.II, Law of Osun State, Nigeria, 2002.”

Fatai Ganiyu was represented in court by his counsel, Mr. Seye Oluyombo, and he pleaded guilty to the two counts placed against him. The magistrate Mrs Adejunoke Olowolaga, said she found fatai ganiyu guilty on two counts of intent and stealing.she sentenced him to one year each for both counts. he jail terms are to run cumulatively..
