A Chinese sales company employees, were forced to eat live worms after they failed to reach their sales targets, including a pregnant woman according to Chinese media.
Pictures showing there sales worker emerged online were the workers are drinking Chinese rice wine which contained mealworms in front of their colleagues.
This took place in hanzhong , shaaxi province according to Huashang Daily on November 8.
According to the report, About 50 to 60 employees wearing yellow uniforms, witnessed the punishment as they gathered at the public square in Hanzhong.
A man, thought to be the supervisor carried two plastic bags in his hands. he then annouced the names of the employees who failed to meet their target/clients for the company the day before. they were large nunmber of live mealworms in one of the plastic bag held by the man.while in the other hand were chopsticks, two bottle of Baiju and glasses. he then put mealworms into the glasses of wine with the chopsticks. Employees who failed to meet there target were ordered to drink the mixture in front of their work colleagues.
One employee told the reporter from Huashang Daily:
‘Today we are punished to eat mealworms.‘For every client we missed, he has to eat four worms.’
