Tekno Disqualified From The Headies ‘Next Rated’ Award Category (See why)

Tekno was nominated for the ‘Next Rated’ but he has been kicked off the list by the Headies. This years ‘Next Rated’ contestant would be Aramide, Humblesmith, Mr Eazi and Ycee. According to sources, Tekno was removed from the category because he refused to honour the category and support the campaign.

All Nominees are expected to
attend promo activities for the event,and also take part in promotion for the sponsor, Hyundai. Tekno failed to submit himself for promo campaign photos, engagement and more.Tekno rubbished the headies earlier when he was announced in the category. he said “‘Next rated after how many years! Let’s be honest pls”. on his Instagram account.


His refusal to rate the award show and acknowledge the category is responsible for his lackadaisical attitude towards the show.

This isn’t the first time an artiste was disqualified from the Headies ‘Next Rated’ category.

Burna Boy came close to been disqualified for not submitting himself for promo photos In 2013,.
